Colton Playground Equipment Needs to be Replaced
The Colton Booster Club has started efforts to raise $50,000 to replace the old, damaged and unsafe playground equipment located at the Colton Elementary School. This playground is the only playground in the Colton community. The only other playground is over 10 miles away. The rural community of Colton is located about half way between Estacada and Molalla along highway 211. The Colton Booster Club supports the activities of all students at the elementary, middle and high school. The old playground has been used by kids from the school district, as well as other kids and families in the community. Recently, several pieces of equipment have been taken out of service, either being removed or covered with 'caution' tape to prevent children from accessing unsafe equipment or areas. If you would like to help the Colton Booster Club and the kids who live in the Colton area, please contact Nina Baurer at (503) 709-0259. If you would like to make a donation, you can mail a check to the Colton Booster Club, 30205 S Wall Street, Colton, Oregon 97017. Donations are tax deductible.
